We now sell our products in more than 150 countries worldwide, but this is only the beginning. Our dreams reach further and there are still many opportunities. Therefore, we want to strengthen the organization with a Product Developer.

Your game.

As a Product Developer at BALR. you are part of the product team which is responsible for the creation of the entire collection of our brand across all product categories. You are responsible for the follow-up of designs when it comes to samples, fabrics, colors and quality. In this important role you are the first point of contact for suppliers and you keep a close eye on deadlines and agreements. With your technical knowledge, it is your job to look critically at the designs and collaborate with designers and vendors to reach the best quality product. Your goal is to create high-quality collections and you do this together with a team of Designers, Product Developers and you will report to the Head of Design & Product Development. Together you ensure that with BALR. we achieve our dreams, ambitions and new heights.

• Critically assess all facets of product development, from sketches to samples and the final product;
• Identifying, addressing and solving problems with patterns, finishes and fits;
• Take ownership of the product development process together with the team of Designers/ Product Developers and supporting them when it comes to technical solutions and recording what needs to be done at style level in terms of fit;
• Guiding and monitoring the fit (at international level) and quality of the products;
• Monitoring and checking on high quality;
• Monitoring and checking the protocols & sample process, the collections and the archive;
• Leading fitting sessions from prototype to production samples;
• Delivery of collections within the set frameworks and deadlines;
• Supporting departments such as E-commerce with regard to visuals, shoots, etc.;
• Be aware of fashion trends, fabric qualities and new developments and proactively share this knowledge with the team.

Your professional statistics.

BALR. is looking for a creative and technical Product Developer. It is important that you have a feeling for our brand and that you can empathize with the story we tell. In addition, you feel at home in the speed and dynamics of a scale-up. At BALR. you get a lot of freedom and responsibilities and you are not afraid to dive into spaces where you spot opportunities. Furthermore:

• A bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Management or similar;
• At least 5 years of experience in Product Development;
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, programs such as Gerber- Lectra, Clo, Indesign is a plus;
• Experience or affinity with a similar segment to BALR.;
• Technical knowledge of pattern making and fabrics, color and size specifications;
• You speak English fluently, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is a plus;
• Already lives in or around Amsterdam (The Netherlands);
• Passion for fashion and lifestyle;
• Affinity with quality control is a plus;
• Flexible, negotiation skills, stress resistant and you have an excellent eye for detail.
