About the Supply Chain team

Supply Chain is at the forefront of our global business. Our Supply Chain team has specialized knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain solutions from warehousing and logistics responsibilities to optimized inventory and procurement management. Supply Chain within Ampelmann is responsible for executing all operational purchasing and (global) logistics in a cost and time-efficient manner and consists of the following teams: warehousing (3), logistics (2), and inventory and procurement management (5 – including a team lead). We are currently integrating the team further into the organization, and we are preparing to include the Sourcing and Contracting team under the responsibility of the Manager Supply Chain.

Your role as Manager Supply Chain

As Manager Supply Chain, you will lead the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team and define strategies for logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and (eventually) sourcing to ensure efficient global material handling and high-quality client service. You will develop, implement, and improve processes to enhance SCM performance while ensuring compliance with QHSE standards and local regulations. In this role, you’ll manage cross-departmental collaboration to support your internal stakeholders, maintaining an uninterrupted supply chain to meet operational demands cost-effectively. Additionally, you will oversee the annual SCM budget, drive cost efficiencies through optimized sourcing, and ensure timely material availability. A key focus is team leadership, including performance management, training, and encouraging growth to support Ampelmann’s mission. You’ll inspire your team to deliver excellence and align with strategic goals. In this role, you will be part of the Operations Management Team and report to the Director of Operations.

Regular activities

• Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Manage and oversee the entire supply chain process, including procurement, production and maintenance planning, inventory management, and distribution.
• Identify and negotiate with reliable suppliers and partners to maintain strong relationships.
• Be able to motivate, coach, guide, and lead a high-performing supply chain team.
• Collaborate with internal teams and departments to forecast demand and ensure supply chain alignment.

We ask

• BSc or MSc degree and > 7 years of relevant work experience with a proven track record on key responsibilities
• Experience with managing (continuous improvement) projects regarding material management or supply chain management
• Cross-function experience, especially financial knowledge and experience with operating and improving ERP systems is preferred
• Independence, entrepreneurship, and a process-focused and proactive mindset
• Excellent ability to communicate with and manage stakeholders globally and on different levels
