What are you going to do?

You will lead a small growing business development team, reporting directly to the VP of New Business. The team thrives in a fast-paced, value-driven environment. We value strong communication and relationship-building at all levels, from C-level stakeholders to day-to-day operational contacts. We ensure a warm welcome with a buddy system and a comprehensive onboarding program. Together with your international sales team and buddy, you will define and achieve success, experiencing both personal and professional growth within Nedap. You will work with passionate sales and business development professionals who serve leading international retailers. Highlights include our quarterly international sales meetings where ideas and best practices are shared. Additionally, this role can be fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead our business development team with a clear vision for organizational growth. Your focus will be on identifying new market opportunities, nurturing strategic partnerships, and expanding our presence in the enterprise SaaS software market
  • Product Development and Launch: Oversee the early stages of product development, from concept creation to value assessment, ensuring each product reflects our commitment to innovation and customer needs. You will coordinate successful launches of enterprise software products, particularly in supply chain and database integration, delivering solutions that resonate with our customers.
  • Customer-Centric Strategy: Develop and implement customer-focused strategies to ensure product stickiness, driving customer satisfaction and long-term engagement.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis: Continuously analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform and adapt early sales and business development strategies, ensuring that our solutions remain at the forefront of industry innovation.
  • Tailored Go-to-Market Strategies: Based on product-market fit and market demands, help craft go-to-market strategies that are tailored to each application within our platform. Your approach will focus on creating recurring revenue streams that align with Nedap’s strategic goals.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans that align with Nedap’s broader objectives. Your efforts will ensure that we not only meet but exceed our revenue targets, contributing to the company’s long-term success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives and decision-makers. Your ability to engage and collaborate with these partners will be critical to our ongoing success.
  • Team Management: Inspire and lead a high-performing business development team. You’ll provide guidance, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence.
  • Operational Excellence: Turn strategic plans into clear, actionable tasks, ensuring that your team effectively executes each step. You'll closely monitor progress, making adjustments as needed, and regularly report on achievements and insights to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business development activities.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and lead a high-performing business development team. You’ll provide guidance, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence.

As the Head of Business Development, you will lead a dynamic team, driving organizational growth by identifying new market opportunities and enhancing Customer Lifetime Value through platform synergies. Your leadership will be instrumental in expanding our presence in the enterprise software market. You will also guide and nurture the business development team, ensuring our strategies align seamlessly with broader company objectives. Additionally, Business Development is focused on expanding solutions within our existing customer base, ensuring their journey with iD Cloud continues to thrive.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the VP of New Business EMEA, Product Management, and the Account Management Team, while also engaging with key external partners and decision-makers in large enterprise organizations worldwide.

Required experience and skills

We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strategic approach who thrives in fast-paced environments. Your ability to lead teams with clarity and vision, combined with your exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, will be key in driving our business development efforts. You possess a strong analytical focus, always keeping an eye on market trends and competitor activities. Being tech-savvy with a high 'figure it out' mentality, you are adaptable and ready to tackle challenges head-on.

  • Workexperience: Minimum of 8 years of international experience in a business development role within Enterprise sales.
  • Proven experience: In direct sales and/or business development, with a track record of working directly with end clients.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and scaling new data-driven solutions.
  • Nice to have: Familiariety of working with or within the retail and brand space a plus.
  • (Software) knowledge:Strong knowledge and experience with (SaaS) software solutions or platforms.
  • Languages: Fluency in business English, with a second foreign language (Italian, Spanish, German, or French) as a plus.
