Electrical Engineering Internship: Industrialization cable connectivity

Introduction

The DUV Electrical Layout group is responsible for electrical interconnection between modules in DUV systems. The ASML systems require rigorous testing and qualification after system build. Disturbances during test and qualification shall be kept to a minimum to assure on-time delivery and system output. ‘Cable misconnects’ and ‘trouble shooting of misconnects’ is often causing disturbances during test and qualification.

Some examples of misconnects:

  • Not fully connected cables;
  • Wrongly connected cables;
  • Cable damage like pushed back pins;

Your assignment

As an intern for the DUV Electrical Layout group, you will improve cable connectivity diagnostics by:

  • Performing a route cause analysis towards connectivity problems;
  • Investigating additional cost-effective solutions to lower connectivity disturbances;
  • Proposing solutions for improved cable connectivity diagnostics to reduce disturbances during test and qualification.

(During the interview your proposed plan of approach will be discussed.)

This is a bachelor graduation project (thesis), or a master apprentice internship to gain work experience.

The duration is 6-9 months on-site (not possible to be remote), and with start date asap.

Your profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Have a background in Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics;
  • Have knowledge of Electrical schematics and excel;
  • Have analytical skills.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you’re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, please include in your CV/motivation letter willingness to relocate.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
