Anti-Illicit Trade Operations Manager

As the Anti-Illicit Trade Manager, your primary responsibility will be to fight against the illegal trade of tobacco products. You will be part of JTI's Global Anti-Illicit Trade Operations (AITO), which aims to secure JTI's supply chain, combat counterfeiting of JTI brands, and address the smuggling and illegal distribution of illicit whites and other illegal trades that negatively affect JTI markets and business.

The role involves frequent domestic and international travel, comprising 30-40% of the working time.

Position:

As the Anti-Illicit Trade Operations Manager, in the Anti-Illicit Trade Operations department, you will:

  • Develop intelligence: Identify, recruit and manage Service Providers (SPs). Develop and direct investigate through SPs, setting clear objectives and methodology. Gather, assess and disseminate information to relevant LEAs or for internal use in risk management and other business objectives
  • Law enforcement Liaison (LE): Enhance and develop relationships with law enforcement, other government agencies and JTI Markets. Support Local market and AITO Regional Teams efforts to impact the overall illegal trade. Prevent from diversion and smuggling of JTI genuine products. Organize illegal trade awareness sessions for LEAs
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on the progression projects and core objectives, including development and analysis of intelligence on all aspects of the illegal trade, trend analysis, monthly reviews and operational activities. Prepare intelligence reports for dissemination to law enforcement and investigation reports to support ongoing AITO enquiries
  • Internal relationships: Work in close cooperation with all JTI Departments (Corporate Affairs & Communication; AITO; AITS; Quality Assurance; Intellectual Property; Sales, Legal etc). Maintain and develop excellent relationships in the company
  • Budgeting and travel: Efficiently and effectively manage financial expenditure. Undertake robust financial planning and control of projects and meet reporting obligations

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Business, Economics, Law or other related fields would be preferred
  • Good report writing and computer skills are necessary
  • Expertise in investigative, law enforcement operations/management or similar experience in private industry is desirable
  • Background in conducting and managing investigations in public and/or private sector or in legal support services or the ability to demonstrate comparable business experience
  • Experience in working effectively with local and regional law enforcement and intelligence agencies or the ability to demonstrate comparable business experience
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic. French or another language would be preferable
