The internship

The Change & Communication, Global Sustainable Production intern will support the execution of our Sustainability ambitions to deliver superior and balance growth and the next evolution of our great HEINEKEN business. HEINEKEN’s internship program is an exciting opportunity for talented students to join a fast paced and consumer-focused global beverage company. You will gain fantastic exposure and learnings by contributing to rolling out our purpose (“We brew the joy of true togetherness to inspire a better world”) and Dream (“Shaping the future of beer & beyond to win the hearts of consumers) to over 80,000 employees around the globe.

In this role, you will support the internal communications, employee engagement and change management agenda and will be responsible for:

  • Create people-focused digital content, including graphics and videos to help tell how Global Sustainable Production supports our breweries in achieving our sustainability goals.
  • Provide support in creation of other graphic materials and ensuring they are consistent with HEINEKEN visual identity.
  • Together manage the communication calendar and digital communication channels including Workplace and SharePoint as well as our Energy & Water community webinars.
  • Help enhance our communications around our Race to Reduce program to further inform and engage employees to participate in the program.

The department

During this internship, you will contribute directly to achieving HEINEKEN's sustainability goals. The Sustainable Production department supports breweries worldwide by helping them reduce energy and water consumption and find more sustainable technologies. While working towards these objectives, you will gain expertise in:

  • Internal corporate communications
  • Stakeholder communications
  • Content creation
  • Digital collaboration tools for employee engagement

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2025
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible)
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
  • It is a practice-oriented internship
  • You will be based in Amsterdam
  • Working from home/hybride/location
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week (With a start of 01 January 2025)
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed.

The start of your internship

Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can organize fun activities with your fellow interns.

The unique you!

  • Pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, video editing
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and proofreading communication skills
  • Ability to take complex information and distil it into concrete, clear and simple messages for various internal audiences
  • Collaborative team player
  • Self-starter who is structured and organized; can handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Creative and outside-the-box thinker who can bring a fresh perspective to employee communications
  • Passion for understanding the art of employee communications
  • Fluency in English

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
  2. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
  3. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  4. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
