In the Robotic Application Software Development department, we develop software that helps automate dairy farms. We are working on a range of products, like mobile robots and our milking robot. We are looking for engineers to strengthen our team.

As a Robotics Software Engineer, you are responsible for the development and maintenance of our automated farming solutions including control technologies for our milking robots. You work in a multidisciplinary team, composed of software engineers and testers but also data engineers, and system/mechanical/electronics engineers, depending on the project.

You help translate requirements to a solid software design. You play a proactive role in designing, improving, and guarding the software architecture. Are you the experienced engineer we are looking for?

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Designing, implementing, and testing of the robotic software.
  • Design, plan and conduct real-world experiments i.e our workshops and Lely test farms.
  • Optimizing data structures and algorithms used in production plus improving and maintenance of the current codebase.
  • Ensuring quality control based on design, code reviews, unit and integration testing, test automation.
  • Contributing to the Agile work process by setting targets, reporting on progress, and managing risks and threats.
  • Develop novel robotics algorithms with collaboration and input from our multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • You have working knowledge of Embedded Linux and Git.
  • You approach problems from a system point of view.
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science / Robotics or a similar domain.
  • You are a professional C++ developer with 3 to 5 years of documented work experience using it.
  • Having experience in the following domains will be a plus:
    • Motion control/planning
    • Secure software development
    • Gitlab ci/cd
    • Unit-testing
    • Behavior driven testing
    • Multidisciplinary Agile Scrum team setups
  • Enjoy working in a small and dynamic team
