Senior Contract Manager

How you can make your mark

You can make your mark as a senior contract manager by providing contractual support to the project management on international marine infrastructure projects of Boskalis and general contractual support may be provided to the relevant business units of the company.

You will be working from our Papendrecht office and will be part of our contract and legal team based in The Netherlands. Flexibility is required as you might need to move from project to project in Europe on a short/long-term assignment.

Your responsibilities as senior contract manager

• Following project award, providing contractual and commercial support during the preparation and execution of (joint venture) projects.
• Developing and implementing a proper project administration, including the administration of variation orders and claims.
• Ensure the proper and timely submission of contract deliverables in relation to the main contract and subcontracts.
• Reviewing documents in relation to specific project(s), such as: joint venture or consortium agreements, main contract and subcontracts.
• Drafting and reviewing of (covering) letters, variation orders and claims addressed to or received from partners, client and subcontractors.
• Proactively contributing to all required contract and / or subcontract negotiations during the execution phase of a project.
• Liaising with the insurance, procurement, and treasury department and the legal counsel involved.
• Increasing contractual awareness within the project team and supporting and developing expertise within the legal & contract management department.

Your qualities and experience

You can move ahead as a contract manager if you have:

• Master/bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying and/or master’s degree in Law - preferably construction law.
• At least ten (10) years of working experience as a contract manager in an international project environment.
• Knowledge of international construction contracts such as FIDIC / LOGIC contracts is an advantage.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Pro-active, accurate, and being a team player.

Extra information

• Your team: You will be part of our legal & contract management team, based in The Netherlands.
• Where you will work: You will mostly be working on our international projects on a rotational scheme of six (6) weeks on and followed by four (4) weeks off. The projects are based in the US and Europe.
• Full/part-time job: The position of contract manager is a full-time job.
