Senior Buyer

Do you want to make a difference in the maritime and offshore world? Are you driven by curiosity and find it challenging to manage complex procurement processes? We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer who excels in stakeholder management and project procurement and is also familiar with the maritime and/or offshore sector.

As a senior buyer, you play a crucial role in the success of our offshore projects. You go beyond just negotiating contracts; you have complete procurement management of a project under control and ensure you are always prepared, even if the planning changes at the last minute. You report on procurement activities to the responsible Project Manager and are accountable for other matters to the manager of the project procurement department.

Your responsibilities as a senior buyer

• Coordinate the entire procurement process within tenders and projects, including the selection, pre-qualification, and request for quotations from suppliers.
• Advise and guide project teams on procurement matters, preparing necessary procurement plans and sharing knowledge and expertise with team members.
• Compare quotations, conduct negotiations, develop contracts cross-functionally, and advise project teams on supplier selection.
• Monitor contracts and delivery agreements, manage contracts, and evaluate suppliers, implementing improvement plans as needed.
• Contribute to the optimization of procurement processes within projects and the department, and manage and update the list of preferred suppliers.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as a senior buyer if you will have:

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in offshore procurement.
• Completed bachelor’s degree in a technical or logistics field, preferably supplemented with a procurement qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of complex procurement processes and contracts.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Willingness to travel regularly for project work, when needed.

• Your team: You will be part of procurement team. You will be located in our Abu Dhabi office while your direct colleagues are working on our projects.
• Full/part-time job: The function of senior buyer is a fulltime position.
