Internship Data Management

Would you like to help with the transformation journey of the Data, Transformation & Continuous Improvement (DTCI) within the Component Services (CS) division? Data Management is essential in the transformation the department is facing. Are you data savvy, interested in connecting the data dots between Business Process, IT and Data, division-wide implementation of new ways of working in the areas of data and data management? Are you up to the challenge of delivering best-in-class solutions independently, taking your own responsibilities in a supportive team? Then you might be the talent we are looking for!

What will you do?

You will play a key role in the transformation that will make the division future-proof. Propose and support the development and implementation of new data management methodologies and be responsible for the delivery of the data stream in a variety of business and IT improvement projects, with a much broader impact than just data. No day will be the same...

Your tasks will be as diverse as:

• Support the setup, documentation, and implementation of the new data management methodology;
• Accelerate business improvement projects by leading or taking part in the data stream of those projects;
• Create data models, data maintenance processes, data quality standards and reports, and end-user training;
• Manage or support data cleansing and migration activities;
• Support the big data team with sustainably raising data quality levels in their underlying data landscape.

Where do you land?

You will touch down at Schiphol-Oost, in Hangar 14 to be precise. This is one of two Component Services locations, and CS is part of KLM Engineering & Maintenance, the airplane and airplane parts maintenance division of KLM (KLM E&M). Together with Air France Industries (AFI), KLM E&M is a market leader in the global airplane maintenance industry. KLM E&M and AFI maintain not only their own fleet of airplanes, but are also responsible for maintaining the airplanes, engines, and components of over 200 customers worldwide. Your job will be with Component Services.

Your profile

Bachelor or master students with a love for data and the urge to make a difference. These elements are more important than your exact field of study. This is specifically an internship.

You have a strong personality and are not afraid to make mistakes. You are able to work independently and love to be part of a team. You are a self-starter where possible and are not afraid of taking a stand and sharing your opinion and advice. It helps when you have strong communication skills, and picking up new challenges is what makes you tick. You are a closer and result-oriented.

We are looking for people that have full availability (4-5 days per week) for a period of at least 5-6 months. Longer periods are definitely an option! Of course, working from home is possible, but given the fact that we are working on new things, you will spend most of your days at the office with the team.
