Manager Accounting & Control

Exact has a great opportunity for a finance professional with extensive experience within the Record to Report (RtR) field who enjoys leading a team to excellence. In the role of Manager Accounting & Control, you are the global process owner RtR and responsible for managing the general accounting and the internal and external reporting processes.

The Job

You will play a key role in the development of the RtR processes to drive alignment with change initiatives, refining controls, drive process optimization, and automation projects. Furthermore, you will:

• Manage and coordinate the monthly close cycle for various legal entities in the EMEA region to ensure all activities are completed timely and accurately in accordance with the set closing calendar
• Act as a linking-pin to the business control function
• Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries; generate and record journals and complete balance sheets and P&L account reconciliations
• Be responsible for putting in place efficient and effective monitoring processes for the RtR function by defining key function performance indicators (KPIs)
• Develop and manage effective working relationships in the organization and actively liaise with all key stakeholders including the finance team in Malaysia
• Identify and consistently drive process efficiencies across the global team (e.g. workflow automation, month-close reporting, etc.)
• Set team goals and establish and maintain robust feedback cycles
• Drive increased use of analytical tooling (Power BI and Tabular models) within RtR
• Contribute to any other ad-hoc cross-departmental or functional projects
• Coordinate and assist with the preparation and timely filing of annual financial statements, local GAAP, and timely completion of local country annual audit requirements

The Manager Accounting & Control is operationally responsible for a total of 17 FTE which includes the Accounting team (7 FTE), the Payroll team (3 FTE), the VAT team (2 FTE), and Financial Control (5 FTE) who are located in Delft and will be reporting to the Director Reporting & Shared Services.

This = what you bring

Our new colleague has a master’s degree in finance or accounting, preferably completed with a post-master's title such as RA/RC. You bring 5+ years of experience in a management role within an international accounting environment. Next to this you have:

• An Accounting/Reporting background
• IFRS knowledge is preferred
• RtR finance system knowledge and end-to-end knowledge of processes and project management
• People management experience and the ability to develop teams
• Proven ability to drive process changes in a highly demanding and fast-paced environment
• A strong sense of ownership, but at the same time being able to delegate tasks to direct reports
• Knowledge and experience of Financial/Accounting ERP systems and reporting tools
• Great organizational awareness and a good communicator at all levels of seniority
• You are able to assess and simplify key issues and to support and advise stakeholders accordingly
• Fluent in English (both written and verbal), preferably Dutch
