Solutions Engineering Manager As a Solutions Engineering Manager in NetApp’s Sales function, you are responsible for directing all aspects of the Solutions Engineering organization for your assigned region, including developing long-term strategies influencing the local IT ecosystem and shorter-term plans to meet aggressive sales targets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Partner and Alliances, Marketing, and Product BU to bring our innovative solutions to market and achieve revenue targets. Your passion for technology, strategic thinking, and focus on customer-centric outcomes is essential. You will lead by example, foster a winning culture, and motivate your team to do great things. You must be extremely results-driven, customer-focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships.
Responsibilities
The overall responsibilities of the Solutions Engineering Manager are to provide management oversight to Solutions Engineers and for the growth and development of the function, including selecting, hiring, and developing results-oriented professional employees. Specific areas of responsibility include:
- Lead, coach, and motivate your team, creating a culture of high performance, collaboration, and of ‘always-learning’
- Develop and provide oversight to your team’s professional development
- Establish and monitor performance goals for your team in collaboration with Sales Leadership
- Evangelize NetApp’s innovative solutions and products to Customers and Partners. Where appropriate, participate in Industry trade events
- Analyze market trends and competitor behavior and provide feedback to Sales Leadership and Product Management
- Participate in sales campaigns. Be an Active Leader and operate as a business partner to Sales and be an active contributor to the Leadership Team, helping grow business through leading initiatives beyond the specific scope of Presales.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions with the Sales Management team on a quarterly and annual basis to create a local sales and marketing plan to drive revenue.
- Accountable for the retention of key talent and hiring and onboarding of new employees
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as an individual contributor and 1 to 5 years as a people manager is required.
- A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
- Specialized knowledge in infrastructure including virtualization & server/network/storage. Knowledge and experience in Cloud Technologies preferred. NetApp experience will be advantageous.
