Data Modeler for Finance & Risk Data Platform

Like many Financial Institutions, NN has a history of incrementally developing several parallel reporting flows to fulfill our reporting obligations. As the reporting pressure is ever-increasing, the maintenance and reconciliation of parallel reporting flows, containing basically the same data, will not remain sustainable in the long run.

Following our mantra ”Publish once, use often!” we are building our own data backbone: ALFRED, which will be the single source of truth for all Finance and Risk data. ALFRED will be the pillar under our ambitious Finance and Risk roadmap for the coming years and key in our road towards a digitalized Finance organization. The keystone of this data backbone is a 3NF ERD-data Hub where all data is curated, standardized, harmonized and historized. ALFRED is built on the latest Microsoft Azure-based data technologies, such as Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage and Power BI.

The integrity and flexibility of the ALFRED Logical Data model are critical. For this reason, the role of Data Modelling expert who can become the mastermind of our Common Data Model (CDM) for Assets, Liabilities, Finance, Risk, and Entity Data is added to the team. The Data Modeler is a linking pin between business (data) users, report developers, data engineers, architects, Product Owners, the data management teams, and management.

What you are going to do

• You maintain the Common Data Model (CDM) which is the data model for ALFRED, the Finance & Risk Data Platform of NN. You analyze data and business systems requirements in order to perform data modelling: creating and updating high-level conceptual business models and data models, entity-relationship and dimensional logical data models, and detailed physical database design models
• You create functional and technical designs on data structures as input for data engineers. You maintain data dictionary documents, table, and data lineage models and produce artifacts to support data engineering and communication with business (data) users
• You work with business users and solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• You assist other roles (Product Owner, Business Analyst, Data Engineer, Tester, Architect) with requested information during the implementation phases
• You ensure data integrity, consolidation, consistency, and metadata development in conjunction with data architecture and information architecture professionals and provide functional expertise support and guidance on test coverage and results

Who you are

Tech savvy, with very good communication skills, English fluent. Working in at least two countries before (where NN is present) with at least 3 years of experience with Data & AI topics, good understanding of NN International. Higher education degree required, preferably related to Data & AI.

Who you will work with

International HO team focused on data & AI but also Business Units teams in ten different countries where NN Group is present (Europe and Japan) as well as other central functions, e.g. HR or business transformation teams.
