Senior technical buyer

Our company is a proud manufacturer of special tools with facilities across the globe. In Hengelo, we focus on 'heavy lifting' solutions, transitioning from project-based work to standardized low volume series production.

Function

You will report to the Manager of Supply Chain & Procurement at the Hengelo location, under the Operations Director. The procurement team includes 2 operational buyers, 2 senior buyers, an administrative assistant, and this vacancy.

Direct purchasing in Hengelo totals approximately €25 million. Categories include:

• Hydraulics (hoses, couplings, motors)
• Raw material/machined parts
• Electronics
• Seals
• Fasteners

The company predominantly works with local suppliers but is moving towards creating contracts with fixed suppliers to improve purchasing processes and supplier management.

In this position, you will manage a category based on your background and experience. You'll collaborate with engineering and fellow buyers and help transition the organization from project-based to serial production. Your role includes ensuring supplier contracts, effective supplier management, and improving internal processes to mature our purchasing capabilities.

We use the ERP system ISAH.

Your Profile

• HBO working/thinking level
• Tactical procurement experience in manufacturing (mechanical engineering or hydraulics)
• Able to read and review technical drawings
• Strong communicator
• Interest in organizational improvement

Offer

• Preferably a full-time position, but 4 days/week is also possible
• Salary up to approx. €80,000 gross per year (full-time), based on knowledge and experience
• Bonus scheme: initial maximum of approx. 4% annually, with growth potential based on performance
