Job Title: Pharmacist - Outpatients (Bank Shifts)

Department: Outpatients Pharmacy

The Outpatient Pharmacy service is open on Monday to Friday from 9am to 8.30pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 2.30pm.

As an Outpatient Pharmacist at Bupa, our patients will be your top priority. With no shareholders, we reinvest our profits back into our business to give you the extra time and technology you need to make a difference to our patients each and every day.

Reporting to the Lead Pharmacist and working with the wider department team, you will provide first-class service to our Outpatients customers, our staff, and healthcare professionals, preparing discharge packs, prescriptions, providing appropriate counselling, promoting the safe use of medicines, and other associated services.

About The Cromwell Hospital

The Cromwell Hospital is a major private hospital in West London providing outpatient and inpatient services. The hospital has 114 beds and 4 suites, 6 theatres, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostics, physiotherapy, and a dedicated day surgery unit.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By:

  • Abiding by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics, and performance as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing, and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations.
  • Ensuring that the Outpatient Pharmacy service is patient-focused, responsive, and appropriate, and that the professional image of the department is upheld at all times.
  • Working in the Outpatient pharmacy by undertaking responsibilities required of a Responsible Pharmacist, including ensuring that medicines are dispensed in a legal, efficient, and accurate way and that appropriate clinical and other checks have been carried out.
  • Ensuring patients are given appropriate counselling and information regarding their medicines.
  • Providing professional leadership in the pharmacy, ensuring all pharmacy practice, including their own, is within the boundaries described within the latest version of the Medicines, Ethics and Practice issued by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Ensuring individual patient needs are met and appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Participating in the clinical pharmacy service as appropriate.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Experience of managing a pharmacy and team
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts between 08.30-20.00
  • Ability to cover on-call, evening, and weekend services
  • Minimum of two years post-registration experience

Desirable: Hospital and clinical experience with knowledge of Ascribe.
