Do you have leadership skills and an affinity with detention and reintegration? Join us at the prison in Almelo, where working in a unique environment offers the opportunity to truly help people. At the D&R Department, we aim to make the detention period as meaningful as possible for inmates, preparing them for a successful reintegration into society. Collaboration with other prison departments and external partners is crucial in achieving this. Our operations involve processes focused on law compliance, deadlines, procedures, and identifying the care and guidance needs of our target group. The D&R Department includes various disciplines: inmate administration, case managers, back-office, reintegration center, education, trainers, methodological supervisors, and the library.

What makes our work special? It's diverse, we deal with constant changes, and there are numerous opportunities for self-development. You will combine your management capabilities with subject knowledge, be jointly responsible for personnel policy execution, quality assurance, and process implementation. Organizational sensitivity is crucial, as well as setting frameworks for staff to perform effectively. Building and maintaining connections with your teams, colleagues, other departments, the management team, and partners is central to your role. You adapt your management style to the needs and abilities of the staff and the situation. Enthusiastically, you support the development of both the teams and the target group, demonstrating steadfast leadership.

You will be proactive in making decisions, capable of setting priorities, and skilled in planning and organizing work. As Deputy Head of D&R, you report to the Head of D&R and act as their deputy. The total D&R department consists of 28 employees. You will oversee the inmate administration and back-office disciplines and sometimes take on the role of project leader, representing the Almelo prison.
