Thesis Internship Technology Consulting - Financial Sector

As Cloud & Digital Consulting Intern Financial Services at PwC, you are part of a multidisciplinary consulting team that drives and executes major IT transformations for our clients.

You advise the management of leading financial institutions on strategic and operational technology issues. In addition to advising on an IT issue, you also manage the implementation of the advice.

Think of modernizing the IT landscape of banks, digitizing the business models of insurers, and implementing new technology to realize a better customer experience at lower costs.

Projects range from a few months to two years. Most of our clients are large banks and insurers.

Who are you?

• We are looking for interns who are proactive, have an entrepreneurial mindset and are real team players.
• You are doing a master’s degree (master's degree, preferably an MSc) in disciplines such as computer science or another beta discipline with a demonstrable affinity with technology.
• You are interested in a career in the financial services and want to work on complex issues.
• We are looking for interns who are proactive and analytically very strong and see connections quickly.
• You are available full time for 5-6 months as we offer you the opportunity to combine writing your thesis with gaining experience within our technology practice.
• You have strong communication skills; You are a go-getter and solution-oriented.
• You like to solve problems with practical and creative solutions.
• You are fluent in English and Dutch or you have the ambition to communicate in Dutch on B2 level.
• You are willing to write your thesis about one of the following topics:

- The impact of regulations onto the IT and data architecture of financial institutions.

- Data architecture & platforms.

- The level of cloud maturity at banks and insurers.

What will your work look like?

• You are part of the Cloud & Digital Financial Services team and you work closely with experienced colleagues on the issues of our clients.
• You help clients with large-scale technological transformations, from strategy to implementation. Within these projects you are responsible for timely delivery of high-quality consulting products.
• In addition to the work you do for our customers, you are part of one or more sub-teams within the Cloud & Digital team in which you further develop relevant industry topics and expertise.
• You actively collaborate with leading software vendors and Fintech disruptors to come up with appropriate solutions for our clients.
• You ensure that you are always informed of the latest technological developments through your own research and networks.
• We offer you the opportunity to do independent research as part of our Cloud & Digital team. The topic of you research has a strong connection to the challenges that our clients face. To do so, we ask you to write a research proposal (on 1 A4), similar to a research proposal you would write for your university.

- Your subject: which of the earlier mentioned topics is interesting to you?

- Academic relevance: what value does this research bring to academic progress in the field of technology?

- Business relevance: what value does this research bring to PwC and/or its customers?

- Way of Working: what is your approach to achieving a solid thesis?

- Convince us in this research proposal that your subject contributes to the development of our Cloud & Digital team and also meets the academic requirements.
