Legal Engineer

In this context, Loyens & Loeff has decided to invest in accelerating the adoption of innovation in our firm. To support that transition, we are looking for a talented and experienced legal technology expert to join our Technology & Innovation department and help drive the digital transformation of Loyens & Loeff.

Where are you going to work?

The Technology & Innovation department consists of approximately 20 colleagues. We nurture a collaborative, growth and curiosity driven culture within our team that consists of innovators eager to lead the digital transformation of our firm. Our pragmatic approach and drive to find innovative solutions enable us to respond effectively to the needs of our clients, aspiring to meet the highest quality standards.

Your responsibilities as a Legal Engineer:

• Develop technological solutions by automating document drafting or review processes or digitalising (transaction) workflows;
• Lead rollout, maximise user adoption, and scale up technology solutions;
• Lead projects to map user and client needs by applying design thinking methods;
• Collaborate with legal practitioners to propose (technological) solutions to identified problems;
• Liaise with software providers about technological solutions;
• Assess the impact of potential innovation projects;
• Investigate and visualise business processes and propose possible improvements;
• Support collection and analysis of data on our technological solutions and their return on investment.

Your profile:

• We are looking for a Legal Engineer with demonstrable experience and interest in legal technology who meets the following requirements:
• You have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience;
• You can lead complex digital transformation projects;
• You hold a Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant discipline;
• You have demonstrable affinity with IT, such as an interest or experience in software development, databases or low code platforms. Experience with Mendix, ContractExpress, Microsoft PowerApps or Excel is a plus;
• You effectively translate business requirements to (technological) solutions;
• You have an excellent written and verbal command of the English language; ability to work in Dutch is a plus;
• You are a team player and you have well-developed communication skills;
• You have experience with Scrum or other agile methods;
• You are proactive, self-reliant, and you have a strong sense of responsibility;
• Most of all, you are a team player and problem solver who manages to navigate complexities in an ever-changing environment.
