Our mission is to develop, build and operate a sustainable and integrated supply chain with hydrogen as primary energy carrier.

With a focus on “hydrogen as primary energy carrier, from wind to wheel” the activities of HYGRO are divers. In the renewable energy chain, the peak capacity required for demand or supply is a dominant cost driver. Matching this peak demand and supply in time is another challenge. Is HYGRO selling energy, capacity or both? New value chains lead to new business models whereby in the renewable energy value chain complex data analysis, predictions, buffer optimisation & dynamic pricing plays a key role.

Your activities

As software engineer you are asked to develop software solutions to optimise the production process, distribution and refilling of vehicles. Part of the job is to do the data analysis and improve the performance of the products enabling to the organisation to deliver the lowest cost of sustainable hydrogen to customers. You are not afraid of complex models and algorithms, while having a common sense on how to implement the improvements in a reliable and traceable manner.

• Data analysis on the performance of the different subsystems in the hydrogen chain.
• Develop software to simulate the hydrogen chain and develop algorithms (ML) for lowest cost hydrogen production with interaction to wind and solar forecasts, the different electricity markets, and available hydrogen storage.
• Develop control software for our hydrogen refuelling stations and algorithms to fast fill vehicles and empty the available storage units at the refilling stations.
• Monitor, collect, analyse, and synthesize market intelligence data and developments.
• Study industry and market trends to identify new products and services.Support business development team to help develop new opportunities.
• Prepare presentations, analytics, and reports both for internal and external use.

Your knowledge and experience

• Minimum master’s degree in computer science with a background in electrical, physics or mechanical engineering.
• Math, statistics and probability.
• Data analysis and visualisation.
• Proficiency in English and Dutch.
• Strong analytical skills.
• A proactive person with hands-on work approach with attention to detail.
• Structured and traceable way of working
• Team player
• Effective communication skills.
• Some relevant business experience is a plus, but not required.
• Some knowledge of the (sustainable) energy market helps but is not required.

Position in the organisation

You will be reporting to the Chief Technical Officer.
