Legal Intern for Northern and Western Africa (NWA)

The Legal Intern will support the Legal team in providing legal support on issues affecting the JTI Northern and Western Africa Cluster markets.

She/he will work in close collaboration with the Legal Manager as a point of contact to the functions, markets, and departments within the cluster, helping to assess the operating environment and ensuring compliance with current market legislation and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess local laws in each market. Perform research on legal issues including statutory, contractual, and JTI policies and procedures.
  • Participate in legal meetings with functions, markets, and departments within the cluster.
  • Support the Legal Team in reviewing, drafting, and improving agreements and other legal documents.
  • Work closely with the Legal Manager in handling contractual issues associated with JTI’s business in cluster markets.
  • Assist the Legal Manager in the preparation of training materials and internal policies.
  • Help the Legal Team with processes and administrative matters.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, responsible, curious, and organized intern.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a desire to learn, good communication skills, attention to detail, ability to consistently deliver quality work, and have a positive mindset.
  • Education: Final year Bachelor, Young Graduate, or Master student in Law.
  • Languages: Fluent in French, English, & Arabic, both written and spoken.
