The department offers a broad portfolio of services for the entire life cycle of a ship built by Damen. This includes handling warranty calls, providing training, supplying spare parts, providing maintenance and carrying out modifications and repairs. This is reflected in the behavior of its employees; they are always available, proactive, keep their agreements and always go the extra mile.

The Role

As a Project Engineer within Technology, Development & ILS, you are at the forefront of service provision. You have direct contact with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders during the execution of commercial projects (technical assistance, modifications, upgrades etc.).

Accuracy, thinking in solutions, organization and communication are key in this role!

You will mainly be working from the head office in Gorinchem (The Netherlands), but will also get the opportunity to make some short travels and meeting your clients in person.

Key accountabilities

• Working closely together in larger projects with the Project Managers of the Service Line;
• Manage your own smaller projects;
• Providing oral and written project details to the stakeholders involved;
• Coordinating, monitoring and supervising the service activities to be carried out, occasionally also on location;
• The (technical) preparation of the assignments (planning in time, personnel and budget);
• Carrying out commercial assignments, for example providing technical assistance.

Skills & experience

• Educational background (Vocation or Bachelor) in the field of Marof, Shipbuilding or Mechanical Engineering;
• Knowledge of various ship systems;
• You have great communication skills, are committed and customer-oriented and you have the Services mentality;
• You are a good planner and organizer, you always keep a good overview and you have an eye for quality;
• Good command of the Dutch and English language, both verbal and written;
