The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Application Engineer Cable Accessories at Electrical Market Division responsible for the North Europe Region, you will have the opportunity to engage with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will make an impact by:

• Customer application engineering for the distribution business in the UK and North Europe on cable accessories.
• Leading customized kitting programs, defining BOMs (Bill Of Material), creating installation instructions, and technical specifications.
• Interfacing with power utilities, EPC firms (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), and large industrial firms to lead technical tender requirements in Medium Voltage (MV).
• Providing hands-on training, support, and demonstrating installations at customer sites, including electrical and mechanical integration in MV distribution infrastructure.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Experienced Crafts Engineers with hands-on experience, possibly with an ONC or HNC.

Alternatively:

• Academic: BS or Master in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 years’ experience in power systems and controls by working in an Integrator/Consulting firm, Electrical OEM, or Power utility.
• Languages: Fluent English

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience in power distribution system planning for EV infrastructure development.
• Experience in MV distribution automation applications, infrastructure, and Standards.
• Experience with testing and simulation in lab and field (grid) environments.
