Transportation Data Analyst

A Transportation Data Analyst monitors and analyzes transportation network performance, identifies opportunities and risks, and provides recommendations for action plans to reduce associated risks and improve efficiencies. Transportation is an essential and often critical component for the success of an organization's supply chain and the business as a whole, making the transportation data analyst an essential role.

You will become part of the Transportation team in Benelux within the business unit Contract Logistics. This is a full-time position, and applications are welcome from Belgium or the Netherlands, as you can be based in one of those countries according to your preference.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement methods to gather and manage transportation data;
  • Research and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods;
  • Review and analyze gathered data to locate gaps and opportunity areas in the transportation network and develop methods to improve;
  • Monitor transportation spend and measure transportation providers' performance and report to management;
  • Support Logistics Engineers and Procurement teams with reporting and analytics, including tender and network design analysis;
  • Build dashboards, presentations, and reporting of transportation-related activities, including monthly/quarterly BU reporting;
  • Become a leading user of the Company’s transportation management systems.

Skills and Experience

  • A completed HBO level/university level degree;
  • Experience in analyzing and improving supply chain data, information, and processes, including a good understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes;
  • Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenges that need to be addressed;
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with a working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting tools, and the ability to develop actionable insights from data;
  • Strong working experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools;
  • A self-driven, multi-tasker with attention to detail, motivated to make a quality impact within the scope of your function;
  • Good verbal and written knowledge of English. Another EU language is a plus;
  • Available for a minimum of 32 hours per week, preference is full-time. Approximately 3 years of relevant work experience.
