The Role

For this Interim position, Damen Naval is looking for an Engineer in Technical Arrangements who can start on a temporary basis for the period of twelve months. As an Engineer in Technical Arrangements at Damen Naval, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that systems and components are arranged to meet stringent technical requirements while prioritizing maintainability, ergonomics, and operational safety. Collaborating closely with system specialists, safety engineers, and maintainability experts, you will strive to optimize the design of spaces where these systems are housed.

Key Accountabilities

• Performing design and engineering activities related to the technical arrangements of simulation and practice rooms.
• Contributing to the elaboration process and development of arrangements through requirements analysis, concept generation, weight estimations, ergonomics, and safety considerations.
• Writing technical documents, equipment specifications, reports, and presentations to support the engineering and procurement process.
• Ensuring timely and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders to incorporate input into specialized calculations.
• Liaising with internal departments to optimize project results.

Skills & Experience

• Master or Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in various design concepts and practices.
• Experience in technologically advanced design and proposal processes, preferably in complex new-built naval ships.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and preferably Dutch.
• Experience with 3DX engineering toolbox or Solid Edge would be advantageous.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
