Your role:

We are in business to save our home planet. You’ll be helping us achieve this by supporting the Accounting Team with the consistent recording of financial data into the relevant systems in accordance with accounting principles and internal procedures.

You will work closely with the different functions across the accounting team to gain comprehensive knowledge of the payment and AP processes. The primary focus in this role is to ensure day-to-day transactions are prepared, recorded and reconciled on an accurate and timely basis.

Main tasks:

Support the accounting team with payment operations by preparing payment proposals for the weekly payment runs, troubleshooting payment uploads errors and processing manual payment requests including customer refund and token payments.

Perform daily check on bank balances to ensure funding requirements to cover EMEA payment obligations and prepare weekly reporting on balances to the US.

Provide weekly support to the AP team by:

o Processing multi-currency invoices in a timely manner and ensuring invoices are billed correctly with the proper approvals.

o Daily management of the AP mailbox and vendor/employee inquiries.

o Reconciling vendor statements and invoice discrepancies.

Act as a back up to the treasury accountant for tasks including but not limited to the processing and mapping bank transactions and reconciling the banks when requested.

Support the accounting team with other day-to-day operations and month-end accounting tasks upon request (e.g. preparation of AR/AP balances reports).

Assist the GL leads with projects related to process automations and the EMEA credit card roll out.

Support GL leads with preparing of documentation for the US finance team and/or auditors and support with ad hoc accounting queries.

Filing, scanning, storing, and retrieving of all related financial documents in accordance with local rules, regulations and company policies.

Adhere to accounting principles and internal procedures.

What we’re looking for:

Education background in accounting, business administration or a related field.

Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in Accounting or related functions.

Strong IT skills and an aptitude to learn new systems quickly, with advanced Excel proficiency and an understanding of essential Accounting ERP features.

Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment and work towards set timelines.

Enthusiastic about taking on a diverse role.

Creative mindset, ability to confront different problems by thinking outside the box.

Flexibility by taking on ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

Ability to treat all data with care and confidentiality.

High level of commitment, integrity and responsibility.

Team player and able to build effective cross-functional relationships.

Highly accurate, organized and have excellent attention to detail.

Broad understanding of business needs with excellent analytical and effective oral and written communication skills.

Fluent English, other languages are a plus.

It’s a plus if you also have the following:

Part-qualified accountant or interest in pursuing further accounting education.

Experience with Microsoft AX, D365, Power Bi.

Other important details:

This is a temporary term full-time vacancy based in Amsterdam, intended to support the team until approximately the end of 2024. If you’re successful in the selection process, we will offer you a contract until December 31 2024.

We have a hybrid work model, working from home for maximum 3 days per week
