Internship (R&I): Process Modelling

ABOUT THE JOB

Are you passionate about transport phenomena and eager to develop your skills in process modelling? Do you want to gain experience by working for a multinational company? Then make sure to apply now and become our Modelling Intern as of July 2024 at our R&I office in Utrecht, NL.

As our new Modelling Intern, you will be part of our enthusiastic and diverse Data Science and Modelling team who help with technological innovation using data driven decision making within Danone’s One Planet One Health vision. Your key role will be to contribute to our model portfolio for sterilization and pasteurization process for an industrial autoclave.

So, what will you do in practice?

• Conduct a literature review to identify existing models and relevant modelling approaches.
• Build a heat and mass transfer model for industrial autoclave using Python and gPROMS.
• Validate the model using experimental data.
• Summarize results in a comprehensive report.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate with various experts.

ABOUT YOU

You are a Master student in chemical/mechanical engineering or a similar field. Previous experience in process modelling is considered a plus. You are highly motivated, enthusiastic and are not afraid of a challenge. You have good communication skills and can work both independently and in a team. You are proactive and are not afraid of taking initiatives and bringing your own creative and innovative ideas to the team.

Key criteria to be eligible for this internship:

• You are enrolled at a university for the whole duration of the internship (if you are a non-EU citizen you must be enrolled in a Dutch university to be eligible for this internship)
• You are fluent in English—both verbal and written
• You have completed coursework in Applied transport phenomena and/or Computational transport phenomena and/or Computational fluid dynamics (or equivalent).
• You are available to start July or August 2024 for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days a week.
• You are willing to work from Utrecht, The Netherlands
