About the role

Dyson are expanding their global supply chain footprint and are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a small team on the ground in Budapest.

• Lead the installation of Production Equipment in Dyson’s CM within allocated timeframe.

• Commission the Production Line and work with Contract Manufacturer to hit SOP (Start of Production) on time.

• Manage the Contract Manufacturer to monitor the performance of the Production line(s) based on Yield, OEE, and quality targets.

• Setup a Preventive Maintenance process / procedures with the CM to ensure maximum utilisation of the production line.

• Develop a culture of good Engineering practice and continuous improvement.

• Be the leadership within the ME department. To create and maintain a culture of high standards to meet the vision and mission of the ME department.

• Lead the Technical Team in the region driving for their performance and development.

• Proactively identifying technical risks within projects and influencing design teams in their resolution, often taking the lead in the design, and testing of the engineering solution

• Provide feedbacks to NPI team to improve on next generation of products.

• Lead the team in working with suppliers to conduct Equipment FMEA to deliver solutions that are robust and mistake proof.

• Lead the team in establishing process validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), work with supplier and CM to commission, and validate the production equipment.

• Run experiments to define process margins using DOE.

• Setup process monitoring in line with quality expectations; using key tools like SPC.

• Drive communication and status update to stakeholders.

• Problem solving and root cause analysis of product failures.

• Process optimization through breakthrough engineering solutions.

About you

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Communications, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.

• An motivational people leader who has worked in a relevant manufacturing environment.

• Experience in developing and managing expenses and capital budgets

• Ideally have experience of working in regulated industry(s)

• Experience in process validation, URS, DS, FS along with IQ/OQ/PQ.

• Have conducted extensive process charcterisation work using DOE.

• Has operated in an out sourced environment; understanding the challenges and pit falls.

• Process Control design and implementation.

• Statistical tools application (Minitab / JMP).

• Familiar with the rigor of NPI phases and milestones.

• Good written and verbal English communication

• Adaptable to change and a problem solving mind set

This role would require travel between the Dyson office and the Contract manufacturer, which is located 2 hours from Budapest. For the first 6 months, you would be required to spend more time at the Contract Manufacturer.
