As a Barclays Algo Java Developer, you will have an exciting chance to be designing and developing critical components that form the very core of the Equities Electronic Trading business: Smart Order Routing and Algorithmic Trading strategies. What will you be doing?
Working closely with the quantitative team on gathering requirements
Designing and building trading algorithms and solutions for order execution as well as enhancing the existing set of products
Working with other teams in Equities business and the Investment Bank to collaborate on larger deliverables
Liaising with key business stakeholders to prioritize book of work and clarify requirements
Taking active part in constructive code reviews
Leading hands on design, development and testing; most of our code base is fairly new and plenty of opportunity to work on new code
Accounting for the escalation contact for L3 support during London business hours
Excellent knowledge and use of core Java in a commercial environment
Knowledge of Linux or other UNIX-based systems
Comprehensive skills to analyze submitted code and infer issues
Exceptional written and oral English communications skills
Skills that will help you in the role:
Experience in building trading applications
Knowledge of equities markets, execution algorithms, smart order routing
Experience with market data or exchange connectivity protocols
Knowledge of C++ and/or UNIX scripting
