Vattenfall Heat Projects develops and implements all of Vattenfall's new-build heating plant projects in conventional and new technologies.

The Engineering Department consists of an international team of highly qualified engineers from different disciplines and is responsible for the development and execution of the technical project stream.

A selected project team of engineers manages the development and execution processes and coordinates the installation, commissioning and hand-over of the new plants to the future operator in consultation with the stakeholders.

In addition, the engineering department supports the projects with schedule preparation, investment cost estimation, quality management and quality standards.

In order to support the development and implementation of our technical activities in an extensive project portfolio, we are looking for the following team member for Vattenfall.

What will you do?

As an Instrumentation & Control Engineer, your tasks are varied and crucial to the success of a project. Here are the key responsibilities:

• Oversee all Instrumentation & Control (I&C) activities throughout the project lifecycle, spanning development, establishment, and realization phases.
• Coordinate engineering activities related to I&C, including interfaces with other disciplines.
• Take responsibility for I&C interfaces and collaborate with other disciplines in project deliverables preparation.
• Provide technical coordination for I&C solutions, emphasizing Distributed Control System, Automation, Communication, and Security Systems in power plant-specific tasks.
• Specify I&C components in adherence to international regulations, standards, and internal Vattenfall standards.
• Support various project aspects, including procurement, quality standards adjustment, and stakeholder management, reporting to the Engineering Manager and Line Manager Discipline Engineering.

Qualifications

Who are you?

We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:

• Holds a relevant University degree in Automation Technology or alternatively in electrical engineering.
• Proficient in both Dutch and English, with strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Possesses a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction within the industrial plant sector, preferably specializing in heat and power generation.
• Demonstrates a robust knowledge of I&C engineering and practical experience in the realization of power and heat generation plants, as well as process engineering plants.
• Sound knowledge of various systems, including Distributed Control Systems, Process control technology, security and communication systems, video surveillance system, fire alarm system, access control, intrusion detection system, radio clock, weather station, lift emergency call, alarm tracking system, electroacoustic systems/voice alarm system), IT infrastructure, telecommunications, active network technology, and WIFI.
• Exhibits leadership qualities and analytical skills, with the ability to establish a structured approach to work for both oneself and the team.
• Self-propelling attitude and a strong focus on health, safety, and safety in design.
