The position

The primary purpose of the role will be to further enhance TMS (ITS) processes by using the IHB for settlement of intercompany (I/C) invoices and other I/C financial transactions. Post go-live, you will be responsible for maintenance of the IHB, including daily monitoring and period-end closing, issue resolution and provide support to end-users. In a second project phase, the IHB will upgrade to become a ‘Payment Factory’, and process external Payments on Behalf of (PoBo) and Collections on Behalf of (CoBo).

Your workplace:

In the context of In-house Bank (IHB) this is a new role in the Treasury Control team. You will be part of the broader treasury team and play team member role. You will be hands-on involved from the start, by supporting the technical and organizational implementation of the IHB processes in the Treasury Management System (TMS), being ION ITS, and ERP systems (UBW and IFS) and across many legal entities/countries, in accordance with the structure and organizational scope of the IHB solution.

Your responsibilities

  • Ongoing maintenance of the IHB structure and master data in the TMS and ERP systems. Daily monitoring of transaction processing, internal bank statement reporting and bank account balances. Resolution of issues related to the IHB transactions;
  • Period-end closing activities, including settlement of I/C interest and issuing internal interest statements. Processing IHB related reports and flagging balances requiring broader review;
  • Support the set up and maintenance of IHB agreements and TP documentation together with Tax & Legal;
  • Documentation and maintenance of IHB-related process descriptions and continuously evaluate and recommend solutions to enhance treasury/IHB processes and systems. Provide training and support to IHB end-users;
  • Checks compliance with the Van Oord Risk & Internal Framework, Treasury Control Framework & Policy, and Authorization policy;
  • Ensure treasury transactions are processed accurately, timely and complete for the treasury entity. Act as a liaison between the Treasury and Finance departments.

Job requirements

You are a self-starter with strong initiative and able to identify opportunities to drive value. Keywords for your personality are pro-active, agile, fast learning and resilient. You have strong communicative skills and you are an effective team player, which combined gives you the capability to be successful within Van Oord. Furthermore you have:

  • A bachelor / master degree in finance or business administration / economics / accounting and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in treasury control, back-office or accounting;
  • Strong affinity with financial processes and systems;
  • In-house banking experience is desired. Proficiency in use of treasury management systems;
  • Knowledge of accounting for financial instruments;
  • Ability to (inter)act with senior internal and external parties / stakeholders (e.g. GFSSC, Group Control, Group Tax, Auditors);
  • Ability to work with less pre-determined or predictable guidelines and different deadlines;
  • High level of accuracy and structured way of working;
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Other languages are preferred.
