• Location: Industrial Design Center Eindhoven or The Hague

THE WORK

At Industry X ▪ Industrial Design (formerly known as VanBerlo), we design physical products and digital experiences. Do you want to gain experience in the ever-evolving field of industrial design? Do you like to work innovative products in both the physical and digital world?

As an Industrial Design intern, you will have the chance to work with and learn from our, creative & technical experts, as well as the opportunity to hone your skills while working on a variety of real-life projects.

Team(s)

• You’ll be part of our group of more than 70 creatives, including industrial designers, design engineers, UX/digital designers, strategists, researchers, developers, and project managers.
• You will be a full member of our multidisciplinary project teams that are assembled depending on the projects that are running.
• We are based in Eindhoven and The Hague, and work closely together between both studio spaces. You will work from one office, traveling to the other office occasionally.
• You will get a dedicated mentor to help you define your learning goals and find the projects that suit you and your goals best.

Daily tasks

• You will work on a variety of projects within our domains: professional products, mobility, energy & utilities, consumer products, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods), and health.
• Participate in creative/brainstorm workshops.
• Come up with innovative and creative solutions to design problems.
• Visualize and 3D model (your) ideas and concepts.
• Create both physical and digital prototypes.

Qualifications

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• A hands-on can-do attitude
• A portfolio of your work showcasing your process, what excites you and the skills you bring.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling software (e.g. Rhino, Solidworks).
• Being comfortable in visualizing your and other’s ideas and concepts, both analog and digital (e.g. in Procreate, Adobe Suite).
• Proficiency in English.
• You are enrolled at a university during the entire length of the internship, pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Creative Technology or similar.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

• Experience with digital prototyping software like ProtoPie.
• Experience with render software (e.g. KeyShot)
• An interest in design for sustainability and/or inclusivity.
