As a Barclays Trading UI Developer, you will be performing activities related to the development, unit testing, deployment, support, and maintenance of an in-house electronic trading application used by the Fixed Income Rates business. This is an exciting opportunity to be accountable for ensuring the smooth running of the platform and liaising with different teams across Barclays as required.

What will you be doing?

Helping to define the overall target architecture

Engaging in detailed technical discussions with other senior developers

Engaging with trading, product teams and partnering with first-line support teams

Working with the Business to analyse requirements for system implementation

Developing requirements which includes making the necessary changes in the internal adapters as well as the vendor system

Maintaining and enforcing project standards ensuring they are adhered to

Maintaining a commitment to a global code base ensuring other regions are kept informed of breaking changes

Undertaking analysis of change requests, incidents against applications and products within domain

What we’re looking for:

Solid experience in UI project/roles, as we focus on modern HTML5/javascript and utilize both Angular and REACT

Experience building enterprise scale desktop and/or web applications

Solid experience in JavaScript, Angular 2 web development framework, HTML5 and CSS

Knowledge and experience of software development and collaboration tooling including Git, BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA, and the like

Skills that will help you in the role:

Ability to comprehend, implement, and influence complex problems and solutions with an analytical approach

Familiarity with Kafka and working knowledge of UNIX platforms

Familiarity with utilising Agile Development methodologies, Test Driven Development and Continuous Delivery

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
