As a Data Engineer you are responsible for the design and the building and integration of data pipelines and models. When needed, you also develop models yourself and feel confident to explore PowerBI Report for the required validation information. You are responsible for building and maintaining the BI and Analytics infrastructure that is used by the Cross Border Solutions business unit to accommodate data driven decisions. As you are designing and modeling the data you will find challenges to combine and enhance the sources that you use. Data quality and model-transparancy is key to make our environment fitting to the business needs.

• You design and develop the data pipelines and warehouses on a daily basis.
• You write and fine-tune queries for performance and scalability.
• You work closely with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to implement and ensure a proper backend for their insights or models.

The Business Intelligence & Analytics team has 22 members in total. With regard to your direct colleagues, you will closely work together with 7 data specialists on data of logistical processes. The Cross Border Solutions business unit at PostNL has 13 offices worldwide, 1200 employees and serves customers in 190 countries. • Salary between €4.091 and €6.498 gross per month (scale 11) at 37 hours per week.

To be successful in this role you need to have an eye for detail and quality, but also to be proactive and have an innovative mindset. This is necessary because you will be working in a complex and data rich environment and you have an important role in handling the data. Lastly you work closely with numerous colleagues within an international environment, therefore it’s important to have excellent communication skills in English. What else is important:

• Higher education or academic background (HBO/WO) relevant to this work field.
• 3+ years of relevant working experience.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with DBT, preferably on a Databricks environment.
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with Reporting tools is appriciated, preferably Power-Bi
