The AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) develops the shared services and capabilities that teams across PostNL use to build AI and agent-based solutions. As a Solution Consultant, you help shape these capabilities by understanding what users and teams need and translating this into clear requirements for engineers. You also bring structure to initiatives where there is no clear blueprint, coordinate the people and decisions required, and ensure that user needs and adoption receive as much attention as the technology itself.

Ownership: You take responsibility for topics from initial intake through implementation and adoption. You identify what is needed, bring the right people together, and keep progress moving.

As a Solution Consultant within our AI Centre of Excellence (AI CoE), you help turn AI ambitions into services that teams across our organisation can use with confidence. You work closely with Product Owners, AI Engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to develop shared AI capabilities, such as our AI gateway, agent and tool registries, knowledge bases, evaluation services, and reference solutions. You translate business needs into clear requirements, keep stakeholders aligned, and make sure solutions deliver value for end users.

You guide initiatives from the first idea through to successful adoption. For example, you may lead the pilot and rollout of our AI gateway, helping teams use AI in a secure and scalable way. You organise workshops and roundtable sessions with both technical and non-technical colleagues, gather user feedback, and turn insights into practical improvements. Working with engineers, platform teams, and users, you ensure successful pilots become reusable AI services that can be adopted across our organisation.

You will join PostNL’s AI CoE, a central team that helps shape how AI is developed and applied across the organisation. The team consists of 11 colleagues, including AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Solution Consultants, Product Owners, and AI Literacy Leads.

The AI CoE is organised into three streams: prototyping, literacy, and core tech. You will join the core tech stream. The atmosphere is open and helpful: we review each other’s work, share knowledge in tech deep dives, and regularly meet in The Hague to collaborate and refine the roadmap together.

You are an analytical and proactive communicator who enjoys bringing structure to complex challenges and turning ideas into practical solutions. With your strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, you connect business and technology, build alignment across teams, and confidently guide discussions towards clear decisions. You combine curiosity with a user-focused mindset, ensuring solutions are not only technically sound but also easy to adopt and deliver value in practice.

You also have the following qualities:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as artificial intelligence, computer science, information management, business IT, engineering, data science, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a technical consulting, solution consulting, technical business analysis, product development, or technical delivery role.
• Experience leading or coordinating technical initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders from requirements through implementation and adoption.
• A solid understanding of modern technologies, including APIs, cloud services, system integrations, and AI solution patterns.
• Familiarity with AI technologies such as large language models, knowledge and retrieval systems, agent-based applications, or AI evaluation methods.
