This is your role

The Procurement Manager - LastMile is responsible for the procurement and contract management of Last Mile parcel delivery services locally in all our destination markets. This means worldwide but now has the focus on Europe and the top 10 markets outside Europe. You are investigating delivery vendors that matter in certain countries and are always keen on contracting the best vendors in the field. You realize and maintain a procurement policy that is aligned with PostNL intercompany policy. As Procurement Manager you will act as the key point of contact between internal stakeholders, supply chain partners and suppliers.

Your role will cover the following areas:

  • Leading complex negotiations covering the aspects of Cost, Quality and Sustainability.
  • Optimizing relationships with our delivery partners.
  • Tendering processes where applicable (specify, select, contract, implement).

Contract Management

  • Serve as an escalation point for internal stakeholders when KPI’s of contracted services are not met and take the lead in corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Standardize documentation required for procuring (e.g. Contracts, SLA, General Terms & Conditions, etc).

Development of market knowledge:

  • Finding new delivery partners and other e-commerce logistics-related partners in our main destination markets, which involves interesting cultural differences.

  • A gross monthly salary between €4.865, - and €6.890, - (based on 39.25 hours per week), in scale 11.

This is what you bring

  • We would like you to have 3 to 5 years of working experience with eCommerce and last mile delivery procurement in the field of international supply chain.
  • You are perfectly able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Mastery of another European language is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of custom clearance procedures is highly preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and diplomatic skills from operational to senior management level.
  • Ability to translate concepts into actions and implement them.
  • Ability to manage and influence cross functional, cross cultural teams.
  • Strong networking skills, able to connect with and mobilise people.
  • We like to see a future-oriented mindset and mentality embracing.
