Your job

In addition, you:

  • Deliver concrete outcomes within the Risk Assessment workstream
  • Guide the business in applying NFR tools such as RCSA
  • Improve risk methodologies, definitions and control testing
  • Align governance, roles and reporting across teams
  • Support data optimisation and implementation of new risk tooling

Key challenges and desired outcomes

Within 2 years, realise an updated risk- and control framework to reach control effectiveness.

Key relationships

You will report to one of three Workstream Leads of E2E NFR, depending on placement.

Working environment

You join the E2E Non-Financial Risk Program, a focused program team of around 14 colleagues, including Risk and SEI professionals. You work closely with the Risk Assessment workstream, led by the workstream lead Ingrid, and one other dedicated colleague. Other workstreams cover key controls, policies and ways of working, and collaboration across these streams is part of daily work. The program operates at the heart of the bank and works closely with the business, which owns execution. Your role focuses on direction, alignment and quality. You mainly work from the ABN AMRO office, in a professional, collaborative environment where expertise, clarity and open dialogue matter.

Your profile

You bring calm, structure and clarity in a complex environment. You connect easily with stakeholders at different levels and know when to guide, challenge or support. You enjoy working hands-on, while keeping the bigger picture in mind. You communicate clearly, listen carefully and translate risk topics into practical actions. You feel comfortable in change and know how to keep people engaged when timelines are tight.

You also bring:

  • At least 7 years of experience in non-financial risk roles
  • Proven experience in complex risk or regulatory programs
  • Strong knowledge of NFR concepts, both methodical and operational
  • Hands-on experience with NFR tooling, including RCSA, monitoring, testing and audit findings
  • Ability to assess relevant risk triggers and events
  • Experience in risk expert or advisory roles
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Behaviour we want to see within Risk Management

  • Debate, debate, decide: gain different perspectives on impact throughout the value chain. Then take the decision, accept the decision and respect single accountability and responsibility.
  • Keep it simple: start with the goal, set well-defined requirements, proactively address dependencies, seek feasibility in plans and don’t overpromise. No abbreviations.
  • Embrace Good: don't go for perfect, do what’s right and compliant.
  • From being nice to being kind: ask and act on feedback, be open about the good, bad and ugly. Reflect, adapt, and move forward.
  • No excuses – stay the course: take the lead, own it. Act quickly, standardize progress updates to ensure timely support and escalate.
