Practical Internship Treasury Accounting

We have an excellent opportunity available for an internship as Treasury Accounting Intern at BMW Finance N.V. You will be working in a high-performing team within the Back Office & Accounting team alongside driven colleagues who continuously strive to reach the next level.

As part of the Back Office & Accounting team, you will ensure compliance with internal and external requirements of all payment obligations, including invoices, debt transactions, and derivative transactions. You enjoy working with numbers and understanding the story behind them. In this role, you will support the entire financial accounting process and proactively contribute to improving the processes within the Back Office & Accounting department.

You will report to the Head of Accounting & Back Office and work closely with the Treasury, Controlling and Tax department.

What will you do?

• Checking and confirming treasury transactions;
• Checking, confirming and managing day-to-day treasury payments across global bank accounts;
• Collaborating with and providing relevant information to different stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and headquarters;
• Preparing and ensuring consistent high-quality group and statutory reporting in line with internal and external accounting guidelines and deadlines;
• Performing ad hoc financial analysis and preparing presentations for management;
• Actively participating in company-wide projects;
• Continuously improving processes and reporting activities.

Who are we looking for?

• At least a third-year Bachelor’s student at HBO level or higher in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in English (basic knowledge of Dutch is a plus, but not required)
• Able to work independently; curious, determined to solve complex issues, and comfortable asking for help when needed
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong communication skills at all organizational levels
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and a strong team player
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical skills
