Job Description

As a Graduate Development Program Trainee in R&D Project Management for Azurion Eye, you will join The Image Guided Therapy Azurion Eye R&D organization, a community of approximately 100 colleagues dedicated to accelerating AI in our Azurion Eye Product Suite.

In this two-year traineeship, you will gain hands-on experience, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow into a capable R&D Project Manager. As part of this role, you will contribute to Azurion Eye—the creation of the next generation of AI-driven imaging solutions that help clinicians in workflow automation and improve patient outcomes. You will gain exposure to the development of advanced diagnostic capabilities on the Azurion platform, working alongside multidisciplinary teams at the forefront of innovation.

First assignment:

  • Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Azurion Eye R&D innovation projects
  • Assist in coordinating cross-functional teams (software, AI, and engineering), ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Contribute to project governance activities, including reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder communication
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and tools

Second assignment:

  • Build on your first-year experience and take ownership of a project or workstream within a larger R&D program, potentially within the Azurion platform
  • Drive project execution, ensuring timely delivery while managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate closely with senior project managers, engineers, and AI specialists contributing to innovative diagnostic solutions
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and gain exposure to the broader innovation and product development lifecycle

In this role, you will work closely with experienced project leaders and multidisciplinary teams contributing to the Azurion Eye vision. You will engage with a diverse network of stakeholders across Innovation Engineering, gaining a comprehensive understanding of Philips’ innovation ecosystem.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have completed a Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, Innovation Management, Biomedical Engineering, Software or a related field, and are available as of September 1, 2026.
  • You have an affinity with Healthcare, AI, and advanced technology. It would be a plus if you have experience with Imaging technology.
  • You have a structured, analytical mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • You demonstrate strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • You are proactive, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in project management, R&D, or innovation (e.g., internships) is a plus.
  • You have excellent English communication skills; Dutch is a plus.
