As the current job holder will transition into a new role within our organisation, we are currently looking for a Global SHE Manager.

The Global SHE Manager is a strategic safety leader who identifies, develops, and drives Safety Excellence across global operations and customer care. You will provide expert advice to all levels of the organization, manage our global safety programs such as the Trust & Verify program and Safety Leadership Assessment program, and ensure standards are adopted across global operations. This role bridges the gap between high-level strategy and BU/Terminal-level execution to ensure safe, efficient, and clean storage of vital products. The Global SHE Manager is responsible for the direct management and development of the SHEQ Specialist.

What do we expect from you as a Global SHE Manager?

• A minimum of 10 years in SHEQ activities within the oil, gas, or chemical industry.
• Preferably academic degree required; formal safety education or certification (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP) is a strong plus.
• Proven management experience with significant exposure to operations and/or large-scale projects.
• Fluent in English with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, from the frontline to the boardroom.
• A proactive "owner" who gets things done while fostering a collaborative culture.
• Based in Rotterdam with the willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide expert knowledge and facilitate unease, while maintaining and refining the Vopak Integrated Management System and related Safety Programs, Standards, and Training programs.
• Influence and provide guidance in our journey towards a Proactive Safety Culture by integrating aspects of Human Behavior and Human Factors into our global programs.
• Monitor the application of global programs and policies, lead the Terminal Control Risk Assessment (TRCA) GO&CC topics auditor group, and conduct on-site terminal and project safety reviews and audits together with Global Internal Audit.
• Lead the global investigators team (Tripodians), assure and maintain their competence, monitor investigation quality, execute Tripod investigations, and facilitate global organizational learning from incidents.
• Support the global energy transition by ensuring SHE standards evolve to meet the needs of new technologies and environmental regulations.
• Act as the functional owner for safety-related IT solutions (Enablon, Tagetik, and AI Chat), support digitalization and data analytics, and manage month-end closure, reporting, and Pareto analysis.
• Functionally liaise with Business Unit SHE managers, organize the yearly Global SHE Day and Achievement Awards, and participate in BU meetings and global target setting.
• Develop and maintain global training materials to enhance SHE competencies across the workforce and provide quarterly SB report input and global safety updates.
