Postdoc Software Architectures for Cognitive Robotics

Job description

As a postdoc, you will be in charge of leading the development of the TU Delft final demonstrators of two EU projects, CoreSense and METATOOL. This will require, in a short period of time, coordinating the team in Delft (at the Mechanical Engineering faculty and the SAM|XL field lab) in collaboration with the PI and another postdoc, and with the project partners. This will require travelling, software development work, and running complex robotic experiments with different platforms.

Job requirements

Required qualifications and qualities:

• MSc degree in software engineering or robotics, and similar level skills in the other field.
• PhD or close to completion PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or related discipline.
• Advanced skills in software development and ROS.
• Analytical skills to understand complex software and demonstrators.
• Academic skills to formulate novel architectural contributions integrating cognitive robotics algorithms into systemic solutions and publish them.
• Proven ability to finish projects on time.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work in an open, cooperative, multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel to other partners for several weeks to work with them.
• Experience setting-up and running robotic and software experiments.
