Manager People Strategy

As Manager People Strategy, you will define and continuously evolve the strategic direction for the People team, ensuring alignment with TomTom’s business priorities and organizational impact.

What you’ll do

  • People Team Strategy: Define and continuously evolve the strategic direction for the People team, ensuring alignment with TomTom’s business priorities and organizational impact. Our approach reflects systemic People principles, as recognized in a case study by Josh Bersin about TomTom’s People operating model.
  • Lead the portfolio and prioritization: Own and drive the portfolio of People initiatives and products, establishing transparent prioritization processes and governance to maximize value and focus.
  • Champion a “problem-first” approach: Lead the People team to fall in love with the problem, not the solution—ensuring the team deeply understands business challenges before designing and delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions.
  • Partner with senior leadership and People Business Partner's to embed strategic initiatives across all functions, breaking down silos and fostering cross-functional collaboration within our own team and across the organization.
  • Advance data-driven decision-making by sustaining and evolving a robust people analytics infrastructure, and using evidence and business feedback to prioritize and iterate on solutions.
  • Promote and develop “PowerSkills” within the team, including problem-solving, AI & data literacy, consulting, and stakeholder management, ensuring full-stack HR capabilities.
  • Leverage technology and automation to scale, personalize, and enhance the impact of People products and services.
  • Ensure product-led principles guide prioritization and delivery, focusing on business and employee value.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and iteration, tailoring approaches to TomTom’s unique context and evolving needs.

What you’ll need

  • Strategic mindset with proven experience aligning people strategy to business objectives.
  • 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, organizational transformation, or agile execution within People teams or related fields.
  • Strong change leadership skills, including experience in driving process improvements and cultural shifts.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities—you thrive on clarity and disciplined execution.
  • Comfort with digital tools supporting strategy and analytics (e.g., Productboard, Miro, or similar).
  • Ability to build strong relationships across C-level, senior leadership and People teams, and collaborate beyond our People function.
  • Interest in technology as an enabler of people-centered solutions.
  • Outstanding public speaking and communication skills; you enjoy being an ambassador for the People strategy and inspiring diverse audiences inside and outside TomTom.
  • Certifications in PMO, Six Sigma, Agile, or Scrum are a plus but not mandatory.
