About the role: Booking.com’s Traveller Intelligence track sits within the Marketplace organization and focuses on solving traveller needs across all platforms. The track builds foundational capabilities and data that allow every product, experience, and AI-driven interaction and decision at Booking.com to become more personalized, consistent, and customer-first.

About Booking.com: At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core and innovation is everywhere. Through our products, partners and people, we can empower everyone to experience the world.

Traveller Intelligence delivers a governed, real-time Traveller Profile and Data Products that unify traveller context and behavioural signals into a single, trusted ecosystem. This unified profile powers product surfaces, AI agents, and analytical systems. By enabling unified and well-governed traveller data, seamless access across products, and actionable insights into what travellers truly want, the platform lays the foundation for smarter personalisation, relevance, and accelerated business growth.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Unified, trusted, and well-governed traveller data
  • Seamless access to traveller data across all products to unlock business growth
  • Transparent visibility into how traveller data is and should be used
  • Actionable insights and predictions into what travellers truly want
  • Multiple data products around Traveller Behaviour, Order and Trips data

As a Senior Product Manager in the Traveller Intelligence track, you will contribute to building and scaling these capabilities and core data products. Working closely with engineering, data science, and ML partners, you will help define and deliver platform components that improve data quality, accessibility, and insight generation—creating the building blocks for personalised and seamless traveller experiences across Booking.com.

Key job responsibilities and duties:

  • Own and lead the product vision, mission, roadmap, and end-to-end execution, partnering closely with software and data engineers, ML engineers, data scientists, and analysts.
  • Shape and evolve a multi-year product strategy for your area within Traveller Intelligence, aligned with company priorities, vertical strategies, and the broader Benefits & Relevance and Marketplace AI & Data roadmaps.
  • Define and own success metrics for your products, ensuring they reflect both customer value and platform health, and use data to drive decisions.
  • Maintain and prioritise a clear, impact-driven backlog and roadmap that reflects the needs of travellers, internal users, and the business by translating complex, fragmented requirements from multiple stakeholders (vertical product teams, Marketplace, Marketing, Finance, Legal/Compliance, etc.).
  • Balance short-term wins with long-term bets, planning delivery together with your engineering counterpart and managing dependencies across multiple teams and domains.
  • Collaborate on product and data lifecycle decisions: problem framing, feature and signal strategy, rollout strategies, guardrails, and ongoing optimization.
  • Ensure system robustness and scalability, managing technical debt deliberately and working with engineering to invest in reliability, observability, and maintainability where it matters most.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships, especially with Marketplace AI & Data and vertical product teams, to ensure alignment and shared outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently to stakeholders and senior leadership, turning complex topics into simple, compelling narratives with clear trade-offs and impact.
  • Bring structure and organization to a complex environment, introducing and maintaining lightweight processes, documentation, and rituals that keep the team and stakeholders aligned.

Role qualifications and requirements:

  • At least 7 years of product management experience, owning data products or platforms with significant scale and technical complexity.
  • Proven experience working on data or ML-powered products, ideally in real time or personalization within e-commerce, marketplaces, or similar high-traffic environments.
  • Strong background in data science, analytics, and experimentation: comfortable framing hypotheses, defining metrics, working with a large stakeholder landscape, and driving business impact.
  • Track record of driving multi-year roadmaps for complex systems, managing technical debt, and balancing rapid iteration delivery with long-term system strategy.
  • Experience collaborating closely with data, ML and software engineers, data scientists and data managers, able to “hold your own” in discussions about technical choices, platform features, and trade-offs.
  • Strong systems thinking and abstraction skills, able to turn scattered requests and use cases into clear, reusable capabilities, APIs, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including aligning diverse teams, handling conflicting priorities, and building buy-in up to senior leadership level.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure and organization to ambiguity: highly organized in managing roadmaps, dependencies, and communication across multiple teams and time zones.
  • Able to zoom in and out from a 10,000-ft strategic view to detailed execution decisions, as needed.
  • Team player with a bottom-up ideation mindset, excited to collaborate, learn from others, and help elevate the broader Marketplace AI & Data organization.

Benefits & perks:

  • Annual paid time off and generous paid leave scheme including: parental (22-weeks paid leave), grandparent, bereavement, and care leave
  • Hybrid working including flexible working arrangements, working from home furniture and ergonomic support, and up to 20 days per year working from abroad (home country)
  • A beautiful sustainable HQ Campus in Amsterdam that offers on-site meals, coffee, and snacks, multi-faith and breastfeeding rooms at the office
  • Commuting allowance and bike reimbursement scheme
  • Discounts & Wallet credits to spend on products, upgrade to Booking.com Genius Level 3, and friends & family Booking.com discount vouchers
  • Free access to online learning platforms, development and mentorship programs
  • Global Employee Assistance Program, free Headspace membership
