ASN Bank is an accessible and forward-looking bank with an eye for people, society, and the future. We sustainably contribute to financial solutions for our customers while addressing Dutch societal issues. We pay particular attention to sustainability, financial wellbeing, and good housing. As a bank, we combine the convenience of secure mobile banking with the power of personal advice. As part of the Dutch banking landscape, ASN Bank operates within the prudential supervision of the European Central Bank and under the regulatory framework of De Nederlandsche Bank, aligning with European Banking Authority guidelines.

What will you do?

In this role as Head of Integrated Risk Reporting & Development, you will create real impact by supporting the transformation of the bank.

As the Head of Integrated Risk Reporting & Development, you will play a crucial role in shaping ASN Bank’s Risk Reporting and Oversight framework to support Senior Management to make informed risk-based decisions. This role entails people management; the IRR&D team consists of approximately 10 professionals. Together with your team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring reports and oversight frameworks. In this position, you will report to the Director of Enterprise Risk Management.

As a trusted advisor to the Director of Enterprise Risk Management, you facilitate and support the business and second line in effective Enterprise Risk Management. You will work closely with all departments of the bank to ensure that awareness of risk reporting and oversight is at an optimal level, and that integrated risk management is embedded within the bank. An important objective is to be demonstrably in control in an effective and efficient manner with regard to all the risk reports and oversight activities for the CRO domain, proactively and pragmatically advising stakeholders by playing a leading role.

The role ensures that risk information is accurate, timely, and decision-useful for the CRO Management Council, Executive Board and Supervisory Board, while also driving the digital transformation of risk management processes and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leading a team of Enterprise risk specialists and GRC specialist focused on risk reporting, oversight and development. Build and lead a high-performing team of risk reporting and GRC specialists, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure solid knowledge development (including providing training), risk management and advisory skills, and growth in your team. Ensure performance management and that the team stays up to date with relevant developments within ASN Bank.
  2. Own the ERM reporting framework whilst using AI/Automation in risk reporting. Lead the design and delivery of integrated risk reporting, ensuring clear, timely and decision-useful insights for the Executive Board, Supervisory Board, and regulatory stakeholders.
  3. Develop and implement a future-ready GRC tooling landscape, integrating risk, compliance, control, and policy management capabilities across the organisation. Lead the digitalisation of risk management, partnering with IT and data teams to implement scalable GRC platforms and automated reporting solutions.
  4. Translate risk data into strategic insights, strengthening the bank’s risk appetite monitoring, early-warning indicators, and forward-looking risk analytics. Ensure strong alignment between risk appetite, risk metrics, and reporting, enabling senior management to monitor emerging risks across financial and non-financial risk types.
  5. Developing, monitoring and evaluating policy, frameworks and standards within your area of expertise. Continuously mobilise your team proactively, both in terms of professional content and stakeholder management, to make an impact on these themes throughout the organisation.
  6. Translating requirements (e.g., ICLAAP/SREP, Recovery plan, Sustainability reporting, regulators and/or changing laws and regulations) into concrete solutions and plans of action for the organization, taking a leading role towards your team and other departments within the bank.
  7. Risk Data, ESG Risk & BCBS239 Alignment. Strengthen risk data aggregation and reporting capabilities in line with BCBS 239 principles. Drive BCBS 239 and data governance improvements, ensuring risk data aggregation, lineage, and data quality standards are embedded in risk reporting processes. Ensure robust governance around risk data quality, lineage, and ownership; promote consistent risk data definitions and harmonised taxonomies across the organisation; embed ESG considerations into risk management practices and risk reporting.
  8. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication. Act as a key interface between Risk, Finance, Compliance, first line stakeholders and Technology teams. Foster a culture of data-driven risk management and continuous improvement. Drive projects independently from start to finish while leveraging teamwork to maximize impact. Use strong communication and influencing skills to effectively engage stakeholders and senior management, while maintaining focus on the big picture across multiple demanding responsibilities.
