What you will do in this role 🧐

As a Medior Backend Engineer, you’ll be part of one of our 15+ cross-functional feature teams, working on the core systems that power Sendcloud. We integrate numerous carriers and online stores into a fast, intuitive platform used by merchants across Europe.

We release early, release often, and automate everything we can. Our codebase has high test coverage, our CI pipelines run continuously, and we’re always looking for ways to improve performance, reliability, and developer happiness.

As part of the team, you will:

• Translate product requirements into actionable technical plans, milestones, and implementation steps

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams to align on delivery

• Take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of your team’s projects, from discovery to rollout

• Identify risks early, communicate them clearly, and keep the team aligned and unblocked

• Mentor teammates and help elevate delivery practices within the team

• Write clean, scalable, well-tested Python code

• Contribute to a distributed, event-driven architecture used by thousands of merchants

• Improve observability, performance, and reliability across our systems

• Own what you build, from code to production

Our perfect match 💗

You have:

• At least 3 years of experience with Python and frameworks like FastAPI or Django (other Python frameworks are a plus)

• Hands-on experience building and working with REST APIs

• A habit of writing code that’s always under test and in version control (we use Git)

• Experience with Linux and the command line

• A mindset of designing code with production observability in mind

• Experience developing distributed and scalable systems

• Experience with at least one of the following: Docker, AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

• A collaborative mindset and an interest in mentoring and guiding others
