Platform Security Engineer

As a driven and proactive Platform Security Engineer you will build and operate security solutions to establish and enhance the Adyen Security Posture. You will be both a trusted partner to other infrastructure teams, and an owner and operator of security systems. Your focus will be on Infrastructure Security (design, administration, and hardening), Vulnerability Management, Container Security.

What you’ll do

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security strategy to protect our infrastructure
• Research, develop/implement, maintain and own security solutions and tooling.
• Architect and implement robust security baselines for our hybrid-cloud (on-prem first) footprint, ensuring our platforms are hardened by design.
• Eliminate operational toil by building automated security guardrails and self-healing systems.
• Monitor and analyze security logs, alerts, and events from our platform to identify potential issues, threats and initiate appropriate responses.
• Join the Security On Call group rotation to protect our platform

Who you are

• You have 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following security domains: Linux System Administration, Linux Security, Container Security.
• You are proficient in two or more of the following areas: Operating System Security (Linux/MacOS), Container Security, Network Security, Incident Response, Offensive Security.
• You have experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Puppet.
• You are a builder at heart, and have the mindset to script, automate, and scope projects to avoid repetitive tasks.
• You are familiar with programming or scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Go) to develop simple solutions for complex issues.
• You believe that the security of systems, people and processes requires a pragmatic and humane approach where communication is key.
• You are passionate about open source, yet focused on choosing the right solution rather than following trends.
