The Business Analyst/ Service Performance Specialist is responsible for generating insights into JBT Marel Poultry business to understand how the company can optimize its value creation.

The BI specialist is responsible for the analysis of data supporting the set up and monitoring strategic and business initiatives that enable the JBT Marel Poultry’s regional and global sales & service teams to reach it’s short- and long-term business objectives.

The Business Analyst/ Service Performance Specialist enables access and analysis of information to improve and optimize JBTM decision-making and performance. The BI Specialist will lead the design and modelling of technical solutions enabling business intelligence best practices and skills. The specialist will also deliver dashboards and reports to the business, cooperating with IT to set up and maintain a future state strong BI platform.

The main responsibility of the Business Analyst/ Service Performance Specialist is to support the service organization Global Sales & Service Excellence within Poultry with analysis of business data to follow up performance, support follow up of operational performance, support with implementation of right tool of strategic initiatives and identify improvement opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

Data management

  • Project Execution – Leading BI projects within his or her designated domain based on a prioritized list. Translating business needs into objectives with acceptance criteria that are simple, clear and concise.
  • Lead the design and modeling of necessary BI solutions in cooperation with relevant business and IT stakeholders, delivering BI projects within agreed timelines, based on reliable and accurate information.
  • Provide technical leadership based on excellent insight, expertise, and know-how within the field of BI.
  • BI systems maintenance and governance of the user base and their usage of the tools and technology.
  • Stakeholder Management – Leading the identification of business stakeholders, classifying and working with stakeholders based on information needs and technical acumen.
  • Mentoring and training of a BI community/network. Lead and monitor BI projects to ensure their success, either through hands-on involvement or self-development and training of the user.
  • IT alignment – In cooperation with IT, play a leading role in making data available for the users through a strong BI platform (via the Enterprise Data Warehouse), advancing Marel’s BI maturity.

Business cadence

  • Perform analysis to identify gaps to Service target performance and support in root cause analysis (NPS, Backlog, etc).
  • Prepare and present reports to share information about Service performance, enabling cadence of collaboration with Regions (Drumbeat) amongst others. For these meetings, prepare about performance and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in operational and service performance monitoring activities.
  • Support development, implementation and evaluation of business metrics to meet ongoing organizational or customer information needs.
  • Support Continuous Improvement actions (RCI).
  • Other duties assigned due to the need of the business.

What kind of a person are you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, management, or Business Economics or a related field is required.
  • Green Belt / Black Belt degree of Lean 6 Sigma or similar experience is ideal.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both professional BI and project leadership capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • Experience of Power BI, Excel, Big data, or similar.
  • Familiar with data pool for data engineering (SQL, Python, etc).
  • Proactive, organized, analytical and goal oriented preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service processes and ideally worked in a Sales/ Service environment.
  • Experience of using an ERP, CRM or field service management systems.
  • Appreciation of commercial service and business development.
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage.

Technical skills:

  • Expert knowledge of data management, data modeling, data quality, data governance and BI/analytics.
  • Strategic and creative problem solving skills with burning interest for telling stories with data.
  • Ability to drive stakeholders for results, build consensus and motivate people.
  • Efficient communication and data storytelling (English); strong experience in SQL programing language, Power BI and other reporting tools.
  • Expert knowledge of data profiling techniques and databases.
  • Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and related technical platforms.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics methods and major statistical methods used in the field.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of how to interpret and build solutions based on business requirements.
  • Solid understanding of all major Business Intelligence and Analytics trends.

General business skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and complete projects and achieve results in complicated work environments.
  • Proven ability to support, motivate, and empower business stakeholders.
