About this role

Join Just Eat Takeaway.com (JET) as a Payments Operations Manager within our specialized payments department. In this role, you will report directly to the Managing Director of Takeaway.com Payments B.V., our licensed payment service provider.

You will lead our global relations with payment service providers, moving our performance to the "next level." This involves optimizing authorization rates, leveraging network tokens, and managing fraud tooling to ensure a seamless, customer-centric experience.

Working within a global team, you will deliver by leveraging JET’s immense scale to improve conversion and refine our overarching Payment Strategy. We value teamwork and a commitment to care, ensuring our restaurant partners receive their proceeds through a robust, high-performance pay-in and pay-out infrastructure.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • End-to-end responsibility for the procurement relationship with a selective number of payment service providers, both gateway & acquirer. This includes, without limitation:
  • Conscious decision making on payment methods & -products bought, including all technical- and financial settlement details
  • Optimising payment flows and processes with a view to best possible outcome for JET’s conversion
  • Continuous cooperation with the Payment Fraud team and balancing of measures between payment fraud prevention and optimal checkout experience (including the use of automated payment fraud prevention tools)
  • Monitor continuously the effectiveness & efficiency of payment process and providing proposals to improve authorisation rates and consumer payment checkout experience
  • Support and lead where needed with the help of Legal the proper and where needed continuously updated formal documentation of the relationship between JET and the payment service providers
  • Benchmark and improve JET’s payment flows to a high, world class standard from an UX and cost efficiency perspective
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an overarching Payment Strategy. This also includes adopting new payment services to our portfolio
  • Co-operation with the Fintech Product & Tech teams to develop and build the best in class payment services portfolio
  • Co-operation with the Operational Finance department to ensure a seamless payment flow from Pay-in to Pay-out

What will you bring to the team?

  • Extensive experience in the international payment services industry, including detailed knowledge of the card schemes (Visa, Mastercard and American Express)
  • Receptive, teaching, supportive and steering capability in being a main point of contact to JET colleagues on everything related to payments
  • International focus and able to create cooperation and support for global strategies throughout the Group
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Perseverance, teamwork, tenacity, and a conceptual mindset for overseeing long-term objectives
  • Recognizing the payment opportunity in JET and willing to dedicate effort into developing this, while overcoming resistance
