Senior Tech Lead Sanctions and external Fraud

Drive Rabobank’s Customer Due Diligence detection capabilities for over 9.5 million customers, leading technology direction for an area with 170 FTE across over fifteen squads.

You & your role

As Senior Tech Lead you have a strategic and leading role in Tech4FEC’s detection areas:

• Sanctions Detection: responsible for sanctions global transaction filtering and name screening, including activities related to the Global Name Screening project as well as model development for Transaction Filtering and Name Screening.
• External Fraud Detection: responsible for protecting customers and Rabobank against payments fraud as well as for External Fraud Case management and Investigations.

• Leading the modernization of detection systems towards data driven solutions using machine learning, Artificial Intelligence and workflow automation.
• Aligning multiple squads and vendors to deliver predictable, compliant Sanctions and Fraud releases.
• Resolving critical IT incidents impacting detection availability while safeguarding data integrity.

• Responsible for high quality IT delivery and for driving futureproof solutions aligned with the target architecture, leveraging technologies such as AI Agents, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Databricks, and workflow automation. Demonstrated expertise in modernizing legacy systems.
• Responsible for all IT-risks in the areas and ensure operational and security focus to maximize availability of services and to protect applications and data. Accountable for IT incident, change, vulnerability and Business Continuity Management.
• Drive strategic direction while staying close to execution, connecting technology choices to real-world detection outcomes and regulatory expectations. Develop engineering maturity by coaching Tech Leads and squads to improve quality, engagement and agile ways of working.

You & your talent

• Academic working and thinking level with 10+ years of experience in software or system engineering within large financial organisations.
• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles in regulated environments such as financial services.
• Proven experience with real-time detection, model development, workflow management, artificial intelligence (AI Agents, Generative AI), machine learning and Databricks.
• Acting as a natural connector who brings stakeholders together.
• Demonstrates a strong leadership mindset that motivates and inspires teams.
