Join Vopak as a Senior Manager External Reporting and Control! Around the world, we connect the supply of and demand for vital products and resources, effectively helping the world flow forward. Vopak's Global Control and Business Analysis department, based in our Rotterdam Global office, is seeking a Senior Manager External Reporting and Control. This position involves interaction with Global corporate functions, our Business Units (BU) and external stakeholders.

What will you do as a Senior Manager External Reporting and Control?

The role includes responsibility for the coordination with the various internal Global corporate functions (treasury, insurance and legal), liaison/support with our Business Units and external stakeholders (including (valuation) advisors) involved in the process as well as the coordination of the external audit of the Vopak Group.

Your core responsibilities are:

• Preparation of large parts of the Vopak Annual Report, semi-annual reports and press releases, to communicate insightfully the performance and financial position of the company whilst being compliant with IFRS Accounting Standards as endorsed by the EU and other laws and regulations
• Participate in cross-functional project teams for complex, non-recurring finance events, requiring problem-solving and creative thinking and advise on possible solutions
• Draft accounting assessments for global topics and events (divestments, impairments) and advise local operating companies and investments on the application of the Vopak Accounting Manual (IFRS-based)
• Review investment proposals, providing feedback, including on accounting consequences
• Ensure the effective design and operation of Vopak Group's internal control frameworks and control environments
• Drive the internal representation process for full- and half-year reporting, communicating results to the Executive Board
• Coordinate the external audit of the Royal Vopak Group

What do we expect from you as a Senior Manager External Reporting and Control?

• Master degree in Business or Economics together with a ‘Register Accountant’ or ‘Register Controller
• At least 5 years audit firm experience (Big Four or Mid-Tier), preferably combined with a few years of experience in a Dutch listed company or another public interest entity
• In depth knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and agility in practical application
• Experienced with designing/implementing controls (including COSO and In-control statement (Dutch: VOR))
• Proven ability to leverage expert knowledge to develop business solutions and embed that knowledge, in part or in full, within the organization
• Proficiency in Dutch and English languages, both oral and in writing
• Strong planning and getting the job done attitude
• Ability to work independently in a team setting
