We’re looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join us in NL.

As a member of the global tax team, you will work on projects and initiatives in various areas of Transfer Pricing and NL tax compliance. This will include, amongst others:

  • Manage and deliver on the tax reporting and strategy objectives of the Liberty Global (LG) group to ensure the tax position of the group and related parties is optimised.
  • Work with a wide range of multi-discipline teams and senior stakeholders to lead on providing tax analysis and solutions on multiple complex projects, transactions and business initiatives across the LG group, with complex tax analysis/interpretation and strategic decision making required in this role.
  • Special focus on Dutch tax matters and related planning, compliance and reporting.
  • Direct decision-making responsibility at Senior Manager level.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.

What will you be doing?

  • Take the lead in preparation and review of the Dutch Corporate Income Tax returns and all other tasks relevant to Dutch Corporate Income Tax compliance of Liberty Central NL, and others.
  • Manage the quarterly tax provision for the Dutch fiscal unities and other Dutch standalone entities, including preparation and review of the Dutch tax positions under ASC740, Income Taxes (USGAAP) and IAS12, Income Taxes (IFRS), including maintenance and update of the key SOx controls.
  • Manage documentation/calculation/strategy towards the Dutch valuation allowance determination.
  • Act as point of contact for communication to and from the Dutch Tax authorities (including Tax Control Framework and Horizontal Monitoring).
  • Where time permits, support the wider Global Tax team on Transfer Pricing projects and maintain an in-depth understanding of the group’s Transfer Pricing models.
  • Support with tax audits in the Netherlands.
  • Provide support from a central DAC6/MDR perspective.
  • Support the wider Global Tax team on ad hoc tax strategy projects, tax modelling, and tax forecasting, including monitoring/assessing relevant future tax regulations/law changes.
  • Monitor and communicate future possible automation/system technology opportunities.
  • Contribute to the Tax (Accounting) technical training within Liberty Global.
  • Contribute to tax awareness and appreciation within Liberty Global.
  • Foster an environment in which all members of the Corporate Tax Team work collaboratively to achieve goals and objectives for the wider group.

We tend to look for people with:

Essential:

  • Substantial relevant experience in a large international group tax environment or Big 4 team with strong tax experience in tax reporting and compliance.
  • Overall, a minimum of 8–10+ years of experience.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
  • Ambitious, flexible, highly motivated, energetic, hard worker.
  • Strong technical knowledge and judgement regarding international tax principles.
  • Ability to work independently and to drive a project forward as a self-starter.
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify (proactive) workable solutions in a dynamic, complex business environment and collaborate with team members to take solutions and ideas forward.
  • Excellent personal and interaction skills; able to communicate well and explain tax concepts in an appropriate way for stakeholders and contacts in the wider business.
  • Good understanding of the underlying business and commercial matters and an ability to interact effectively with senior members of the Tax team and members of other stakeholder teams (for example Accounting, Legal, Treasury, M&A).
  • Contribute to team building and technical training within the wider LG tax team, and input into tax awareness of the affiliates and relevant teams within the LG group.
